Frequently Asked Questions
How can I support a GSI student?
The most direct way is to donate through one of our partner foundations listed under Donor Resources above — each provides instructions for giving in its country. You can also support students by partnering with us as a university, employer, or community sponsor. To discuss ways to help, get in touch with our team.
Are donations tax-deductible?
GSI works with registered partner foundations in several countries. Depending on the foundation and where you file taxes, your donation may be eligible for tax relief — the donation instructions for each foundation under Donor Resources include the relevant details.
Which universities and countries host GSI students?
GSI students are currently studying at more than 40 academic institutions across 15 countries. Our Country Reports above offer a closer look at specific programs.
Why do you ask supporters not to share about GSI publicly?
Because of the sensitive nature of this work and to protect the safety of the students we support, we ask that partners and supporters not post about GSI or its students on social media or other public platforms. Please share only within trusted circles.
How can my university or organization get involved?
We welcome partnerships with universities, foundations, and organizations. Our University Best Practices guide above outlines how institutions can support students from admissions through graduation. To start a conversation, reach out through our Get in Touch page.
How do I contact GSI?
